Recent injury shows how the Lakers front office is sabotaging the team

The Los Angeles Lakers experienced a head coach change this offseason, handing the reins to JJ Redick. The Lakers have become more energetic and successful this season.

They have a record of 10-7 but have lost three games in a row. The last loss came on Thursday night against the Phoenix Suns in an NBA Cup showdown. In this match, they again lost center Jaxon Hayes to an ankle injury. This injury was the same ankle that had kept him out for the past two weeks, and it aggravated it again in this competition.

Although the Lakers will update his status on Wednesday afternoon, Los Angeles is extremely thin upfront due to this injury.

They are already without Jarred Vanderbilt and Christian Wood. The addition of Hayes leaves Christian Koloko as the only other center on the roster.

This is front office misconduct that is causing the frontcourt behind Anthony Davis to become thinner. He is playing at an MVP level but has suffered injuries in the past. It was a huge mistake by Rob Pelinka and Co. not to provide quality depth at center.

Fans are not thrilled that another injury is occurring and can’t understand why Pelinka hasn’t been proactive in adding more talent to the group.

For the Lakers to get where they want to be this season, they need a healthy Davis and LeBron James. One way to ensure this is to get them high-quality backups that can step in when needed. Los Angeles doesn’t have that right now, but needs to find a way to make it happen.
