Confirmed details about a Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

“A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” will be released this summer at the earliest

A knight of the Seven Kingdoms is just one of several game of Thrones Spin-offs are in the works at HBO. The series has been in development since 2021 and fans are eagerly waiting for its release.

Although it has been confirmed that A knight of the Seven Kingdoms will be part of HBO’s programming schedule in 2025, with an exact release date still being worked out.

Judging by HBO’s previous lineup for 2025, A knight of the Seven Kingdoms will be published afterwards The White Lotus Season 3 And The Last of Us Season 2, both of which will be released before the summer.

At the end of 2024, JB Perrette, head of streaming at Warner Bros. Discovery, said A knight of the Seven Kingdoms is aiming for a summer release. However, Variety reported that the release is more likely to happen in the fourth quarter of 2025.

The Game of Thrones prequel has cast 14 actors

A knight of the Seven Kingdoms will primarily revolve around the adventures of two characters: Dunk and Egg.

Dunk is short for Ser Duncan the Tall, also known as the Hedge Knight in Westeros, played by Peter Claffey. Claffey is known for roles in Bad sisters And Vikings: Valhalla.

Dunk’s squire is the Prince of Westeros, Aegon Targaryen (who is different from the character of the same name in House of the Dragon). Egg is played by Dexter Sol Ansell, a 10-year-old actor who played a role as young Coriolanus Snow The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

Other members of the major Westerosi houses will also appear in the show. However, they probably won’t be familiar to viewers since the series is set some 70 years later House of the Dragon and around 100 years before game of Thrones.

The series is based on George RR Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg

Similar to both game of Thrones And House of the Dragon, a knight of the Seven Kingdoms is based on one of the many writings of George RR Martin, the author behind the fantasy world of Westeros.

A knight of the Seven Kingdoms is based on a series of novellas by Martin entitled Tales of Dunk and Egg. The series includes three novellas:

• The Hedge Knight (1998)
• The sworn sword (2003)
• The mysterious knight (2010)

The story of A knight of the Seven Kingdoms will likely begin with Martin’s first novella, which follows Dunk and Egg’s first meeting. The plot also includes an attempted battle between Ser Duncan and Prince Aerion Targaryen.

The official synopsis for the series is:

“A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros…a young, naive but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Great, and his little squire, Egg. Set in a time when the Targaryen line still holds power.” Iron Throne and the memory of the Last Dragon has not yet faded from living memory, great destinies, powerful enemies and dangerous exploits await these unlikely and incomparable friends .”

According to HBO drama head Francesa Orsi (via Deadline), A knight of the Seven Kingdoms will have three seasons, each adapting one of Martin’s novellas. Orsi also said that the studio would do this “Want more than that” until there are more novellas by Martin:

“Ideally from year to year and in the form of a three-season series covering the three novellas George wrote. Of course, we’d like to have more than that, and George continues to think about the remaining novellas he has left. “I want to write, but at this point we’re looking at three seasons, which would cover each book, each novella.

An official trailer for A knight of the Seven Kingdoms has yet to be released online, but some short clips have been included in marketing trailers for HBO’s 2025 schedule.

Some notable scenes from the footage show Ser Duncan preparing to enter a tournament and swinging his sword at an opponent. A brief glimpse of Egg sitting by the fire with his head shaved is also included.

Duncan can also be heard introducing himself and saying: “I am Ser Duncan the Great.”

It’s unclear when HBO will release an official trailer A knight of the Seven Kingdomsbut it will undoubtedly be soon as the series approaches its 2025 release window.
