Report: Chris Evans’ Avengers: Doomsday Character Revealed – Comic Book Movies and Superhero Movie News

Chris Evans’ Avengers: End of the World His role may no longer remain a secret as a new report may reveal who he is playing. It’s not Captain America or even his long-theorized twisted Captain Hydra variant. It’s not Johnny Storm either. Instead, it’s a version of Chris Evans’ character that we’ve seen in previous MCU appearances.

Chris Evans is reportedly playing Nomad in Avengers: Doomsday

Trusted industry insider Jeff Sneider, who recently broke the news that Bill Skarsgård and Dacre Montgomery are starring in Dead Man’s Wire, has now revealed Chris Evans’ Doomsday character. It’s not someone many fans would have expected to be the Nomad named by Sneider.

On The Hot Mic podcast with John Rocha, Sneider said, “I heard who the character is…” Sneider further elaborated on the reveal, saying:

“I was having the conversation today and someone mentioned it…Nomad.”

Since this reveal doesn’t come from Marvel Studios, it should be taken with a grain of salt. But for those who don’t know, Nomad is the alternate identity that Steve Rogers assumes in the 1974 Captain America comic #180. In this storyline, he abandons his nickname “Captain America” after losing faith in the US government and becomes a man who serves no country.

A version of Nomad was loosely adapted in Avengers: Infinity War, where Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers was on the run with Sam Wilson and Natasha Romanoff. Co-director Joe Russo told LRM Online that Rogers wasn’t exactly a nomad there, but embodied “the spirit of the character.”

However, if Sneider’s story is to be believed, then a real version of Nomad could appear in Doomsday. However, it’s not clear whether this Nomad would be a multiversal variant from Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom universe or someone Earth-616’s Steve Rogers became after leaving with the Infinity Stones in Avengers: Endgame. Additionally, it is unknown whether he would be a hero of the Avengers or a villain on Doom’s team. For now, fans will have to wait for more details until Marvel officially confirms Sneider’s report.

Avengers: Doomsday will be released on May 1, 2026.
