Report: Lakers trade D’Angelo Russell to Nets for Dorian Finney-Smith

Dorian Finney-Smith is shooting a career-high 44% from 3-point range this season.

The Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly agreed to trade D’Angelo Russell and Maxwell Lewis to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Milton, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. The Lakers will also send three future second-round picks to the Nets as part of the trade.

The Lakers bolster their wing depth by adding forward Finney-Smith, who is shooting a career-high 44% from 3-point range and is averaging 10.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists so far in 2024-25 achieved. Milton, a consistent point guard in his seventh NBA season, is averaging 7.4 points and 2.4 assists in 27 games with Brooklyn.

Russell is back for his second stint with the Nets, spending two seasons with Brooklyn from 2017-19. The 10-year veteran guard is averaging 12.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.7 assists with the Lakers this season.
