JACKSON, Miss. –

A fast-moving storm system left tens of thousands in the dark across central Mississippi on Saturday.

Tornado warnings were in effect as the storms moved across central Mississippi. The 16 WAPT Weather Team tracked the storms, which produced a number of tornadoes and damaging winds. Wind speeds of 50 miles per hour were recorded near the airport around 7 p.m. on Saturday.
