“Can you believe this is the last night of the Eras Tour? I can’t,” opening act Gracie Abrams told the crowd, adding, “Have you all been crying all day like me?”

The singer accompanied Swift on 49 dates of the Eras tour, including Toronto and Vancouver, and clearly wasn’t quite ready to say goodbye.

It’s a feeling that was certainly shared by fans.

Swift chose Vancouver to cap off her record-breaking tour – the Eras Tour became the first tour to gross $1 billion back in December 2023, and final ticket sales after the three BC Place dates totaled $1 billion, according to The New more than $2 billion York Times – because of the dedicated fan response it receives here.

“We spent all of 2024 traveling the world,” the superstar singer-songwriter said at a concert on Friday. “And we thought, ‘Where were the crowds so generous, so welcoming, so warm – where they know every single word, not just singing it but shouting it? “Oh, we have to go back to Canada.” And now here we are in beautiful Vancouver.”

And those fans must have certainly met – if not exceeded – Swift’s expectations on Sunday night.

Were there any special guests?

Tour opener Gracie Abrams joined Swift on stage Saturday night for her first mash-up of “surprise songs.”

On Sunday it was all Swift.

“It feels like a pretty cool night in Vancouver,” Swift said with a smile after a long (long!) pause that had the sold-out crowd cheering.

Swift called the tour her “beloved Eras tour,” so you can’t blame her for wanting last night to be all hers (well, and her fans’).

The concert trio attracted the crowd with star power. Attentive fans spotted actor Aubrey Plaza, Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan among those attending Sunday’s concert.

Fan favorite singer, Michael Bublé gushed about the time he spent with his family at the concert on Friday, sharing a video recap of the experience on Instagram with the message: “If I tell you that last night we experienced something we’ve never experienced before have experienced before, and frankly, may never experience again. Taylor is truly an incredible entertainer.”

Were there any special announcements?

Despite much fan speculation online and at the show about special appearances by musical guests, an onstage engagement, album announcements and other fanciful what-ifs, the final night in Vancouver stayed close to script.

But that didn’t mean it was boring.

The energy at BC Place was electric. In fact, it was almost tangible during the Reputation era.

“OMG! SO GOOD!” a nearby fan shouted joyfully towards the end of the Red era.

The singalongs reached a level that at times seemed to rival Swift herself. Aimed more at superfans than casual concertgoers, those who secured a ticket for the final night stayed on their feet, dancing and loudly singing every word throughout the three-plus hour concert.

As the evening — and the Eras Tour — came to a close, Swift had one final question for fans.

“Would you please give us one more song?” Swift asked enthusiastically before launching into the final song of the set, Karma. Fans screamed with joy when she changed a line in the song to “Karma is a guy on the Chiefs,” a reference to her boyfriend, NFL player Travis Kelce.

While she paused for a few moments on stage to share a big hug and smile with her shimmering tinsel-clad dancers and backup singers, Swift offered a few words of thanks to the more than 50,000 fans who had packed into the stadium.

“Vancouver, I want to thank each and every one of you for being a part of the most exciting chapter of my entire life yet,” Swift said.

The joy was all ours.
