Riley Green teases new music with a snippet of an unreleased Heartbreak song

Most artists shy away from releasing or sharing anything new in the last few weeks of the year. Riley Green, on the other hand, is not like most artists. Earlier this month, he released “Christmas to Me” just in time for the holidays. Last week, he shared a snippet of a new song called “What Am I Supposed to Do Now” with his fans and followers on social media.

Green’s latest release celebrates the wholesome spirit of vacations spent with a large family. “What Am I Supposed to Do Now” is a classic heartbroken country song. It ticks all the boxes of sad country songs – missing the song that got away, the loneliness and trying to drink away a broken heart.

The sadness in the song seems to have a hint of anger. The complex feelings are expressed in the chorus. There’s no doubt about it / This poor heart is drowning / And I’m stuck in this bottle with no way out. / So what should I do now?.

Green found success this year with his award-winning collaboration with Ella Langley, “You Look Like You Love Me.” Now it seems he wants to keep that momentum going into the new year.

Riley Green knew “You Look Like You Love Me” would spark rumors

Ella Langley and Riley Green have performed “You Look Like You Love Me” multiple times this year. The song’s theme and the chemistry between them on stage led many fans to believe that there was more than just a professional relationship between the artists. Green knew this would happen before they recorded the song. Recently he performed The Viall Files: Going Deeper. In the conversation he addressed the rumors.

“I mean, Ella’s probably too smart to date me anyway,” Green said, brushing off rumors of a romantic spark between the two. He pointed out that fans just want to believe that duet partners fall in love. “I think it’s kind of a country fan. They love Tim McGraw and Faith and George and Tammy,” he explained.

He also warned Langley about the rumors before they recorded the song. “There’s going to be a lot of things said, but I mean you don’t really have to get into it or not,” he told her. “It will be something that people enjoy as much as we do when we listen to these songs.”
