Lewandowski’s goal was his 100th in the competition and saw him join an exclusive club with two other legends.

The 36-year-old scored from a penalty in the tenth minute at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys – his sixth goal in the Champions League this season.

Only he, Messi and Ronaldo are the only players to have ever scored a hundred goals in the history of the European Cup and Champions League.

Ronaldo leads the overall rankings with 140 goals scored at Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus.

Messi is in second place with 129 goals, 120 of which are with Barcelona and the remaining eight with Paris Saint-Germain.

Lewandowski’s 100th Champions League goal took his tally in the competition to 14 for his current club.

It is also his 125th appearance in the UEFA elite tournament, with only Messi scoring a century in fewer games with 123.

Ronaldo achieved the same feat in his 137th appearance and it looks like no more players will be joining the 100 club any time soon.

Only former Lyon and Madrid striker Karim Benzema comes closest with 90 goals in 152 games, but he now plays for Saudi Pro League club Al Ittihad.

Madrid and Schalke legend Raul completes the top five with a tally of 71 goals in 142 appearances.

He made his competitive debut for Borussia Dortmund in 2011 when they drew 1-1 against Arsenal in the group stage.

He scored 17 goals in 28 major appearances for the club before moving to German rivals Bayern Munich in 2014.

Lewandowski scored a further 69 goals in his 78 games there and won the Champions League title with them in 2020.

The Poland international has also scored an incredible 21 goals with Barcelona this season.
