Ryan Reynolds gives an exciting update on his next film with Hugh Jackman

Ryan Reynolds And Shawn Levy delivered the biggest blockbuster of the year Hugh Jackman back as Wolverine in MCUs Deadpool and Wolverine. The R-rated film was a huge success and breathed new life into the MCU and superhero genre. Reynolds and Levy have successfully collaborated on features such as The Adam Project And Free guy, and recently they announced a new project, Boy bandfollowing their recent success. While plot details are being kept top secret, Reynolds opened up about the film’s script and setting in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

The upcoming film will reunite Reynolds and his longtime friend and MCU co-star Jackman as two bandmates who reunite years later. “I’m on a second draft” Reynolds revealed, “The first draft was incredible and was written by one of my favorite authors, Jesse Andrews (Me and Earl and the dying girl). Now I’m alone. There are no dates or anything like that yet. “I won’t be filming anything for at least a year.” So fans can rest assured Boy band will have Reynolds’ full attention. The actor went on to discuss budget and set details, revealing, “It feels like it requires an extremely modest budget, and one that’s not just about paying top-notch actors.” Shawn, Hugh and I are open to creative ways to make this film an absolute bargain.”

“Boy Band” will focus on joy

While Levy is expected to produce alongside Reynolds, it is not yet confirmed that he will take on director duties. The view of Jackman and Reynolds are reuniting for the musical comedy is a treat for fans. While Reynolds showcased his musical prowess spirited, play alongside Will FerrellJackman is known for his stage presence and appears in several musical films and Broadway shows. It seems like Reynolds is trying to incorporate these real-life elements into the upcoming film. He explained,

Many boy band members – and there are many – had managers who let them down. They experienced a level of notoriety that would be difficult for anyone, let alone an adolescent, to cope with, exposing one’s self-esteem in front of an audience of screaming people. A kind of stopped cultural development arises. They are forever connected to this time in their lives. This is about people in their 40s and 50s trying to reclaim their lives. I think there’s something beautiful about that. The north star for me as a producer is joy. I feel like cynicism is a shrinking industry and doesn’t have a long shelf life.
