Deadpool and Wolverine Star Ryan Reynolds has dodged questions about potential Deadpool 4 since the team’s release. After the film’s record-breaking box office success, Marvel Studios certainly wants more from Merc with the Mouth, but if the actor isn’t there, they’re out of luck!

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Reynolds reiterated his previous comments about the state of affairs with Wade Wilson. However, he also revealed what he not what I want to do with it so that the character develops further.

“There are no updates to share yet.” he said of Deadpool’s MCU future. “But I trust Kevin and (Marvel executive) Lou D’Esposito with my life. The character trait I love most about Deadpool is that he’s a fan. His enthusiasm and desire to be part of a team are truly endearing to me. “It’s his.” overarching wish-fulfillment story.”

“But I don’t think he should ever be an Avenger or an X-Man.” Reynolds confirmed. “If he becomes either, we’re finished.”

When asked if that meant he would decline Avengers: End of the World, Avengers: Secret Warsor even the eventuality X Men Restart, he replied, “Quite the opposite! I think Deadpool works very well in his appearances with the X-Men and the Avengers, but he always has to remain an outsider. His biggest dream is to be accepted and appreciated. But it cannot be accepted.”

“His coping mechanism of warding off shame through humor only works when it is used to compensate for his many shortcomings. If he actually becomes an Avenger or an X-Man, we’ll be at the end of his journey.” Reynolds confirmed.

Based on these comments it appears to be a solo Dead Pool Movies that happen will link the character to other superheroes because, as Reynolds put it, “I have some suggestions and ideas, but none of them revolve around Deadpool. He is a great supporting or ensemble player. And I always wish that Deadpool and Wolverine would somehow fit together.”

“Centering Deadpool works best when you take everything away from him and put his back against the wall, creating an arc for Deadpool that is fulfilling and powerful.”

Deadpool 4 is becoming increasingly unlikely, but a wolverine Movie with Deadpool as a supporting character? This could be the future of the anti-hero. Wolverine and Deadpool perhaps? Or could Wade appear in this rumor? Wolverine and Hulk Film? We’ll have to wait and see.

The swap also reveals that Reynolds and Hugh Jackman will star Boy banda film about former boy band members who reunite as middle-aged men. Shawn Levy is set to produce, but there is no word yet on whether he will direct.
