Ryan Seacrest agrees that anything can happen in Times Square on New Year’s Eve.

Before hosting Dick Clark’s rockin’ New Year’s Eve Seacrest, 50, appeared on ABC Good morning America to talk about the show’s traditions — including the moment someone in the crowd proposes.

“Yes, this happens almost every year,” he shared via People on Monday, December 30th. “Some of it gets on TV, some of it doesn’t, but people love that moment where they say, ‘Will you be with me for the rest of our lives?'”

ABC correspondent Will Reevewho proposed marriage to his long-time girlfriend Amanda Dubin last month in New York City joked: “I should have proposed to Ryan on New Year’s Eve. Amanda would have said no.”

Seacrest jokingly replied, “There’s still time for me.”

Already in April the Wheel of Fortune Host and his long-time girlfriend Aubrey Paige separated after three years together. Previously, Seacrest was linked to Julianne Hough And Shayna Taylor.

Reacting to Seacrest’s joke on live television, Reeve said, “You got that, Ryan. But we won’t rush you.”

Instead of focusing on dates and proposals, Seacrest has his hands full as host Dick Clark’s rockin’ New Year’s Eve For the 20th time in a row.

With performances by Carrie UnderwoodThe Jonas Brothers, Thomas Rhett, Blake Shelton And Lenny KravitzThe live event is expected to have many surprises in store. Even though Seacrest has been overseeing the performance for two decades, he still looks forward to witnessing the ball drop in New York City.

“I will never forget this moment Dick Clark said I want you to step in and do the show every year,” he shared Good morning America before co-hosting the primetime event Rita Ora. “I’m looking forward to it. I’m happy every time we get to watch the ball drop.”

Seacrest admitted “you never know what’s going to happen” as temperatures drop and a million people gather in Times Square to ring in a new year.

“In this moment we are all together,” he said. “Our differences don’t matter for about a minute or two at the beginning of the year. This is something so rare and so meaningful and so special. It’s magical to watch.”

Dick Clark’s rockin’ New Year’s Eve with Ryan Seacrest airs Tuesday, December 31st at 8pm ET on ABC. The event can also be streamed live on the iHeartRadio app.
