Ryan Seacrest says, “There’s still time for me” while discussing his New Year’s Eve engagement

Ryan Seacrest is open to love in 2025.

Seacrest, 50, joined Good morning America on Monday, December 30, to discuss his 20 years of hosting experience Dick Clark’s rockin’ New Year’s Eve with Ryan Seacrest and think about memorable moments during the big celebration – one of those moments, he teased, could happen to him in the future.

He noted that “there’s always a bit of chaos” behind the scenes, from unpredictable weather to performances that don’t go according to plan. “You never know, but that’s the beauty of the show.”

Amid the chaos, there are always signs of love, emphasized journalist Rebecca Jarvis.

“And then there are people who literally propose in Times Square, ‘Let’s get married,'” she said.

Every year around a million people crowd into Times Square on New Year’s Eve. Seacrest agreed that among the hundreds of thousands of people there are a handful of suggestions.

“Yes, it happens almost every year,” he replied. “Some of it gets on TV, some of it doesn’t, but people love that moment where they say, ‘Will you be with me for the rest of our lives?'”

ABC correspondent Will Reeve, who proposed to his longtime girlfriend Amanda Dubin in New York City in November, joked: “I should have proposed to Ryan on New Year’s Eve, he said. “Amanda (Dubin) would have said no.”

Seacrest has been publicly single since his split from model Aubrey Paige in April. The former couple dated for three years before calling it quits.

“After three beautiful years together, Ryan and Aubrey have mutually decided to separate,” a source close to the couple told PEOPLE at the time. “They plan to remain in each other’s lives as good friends and support each other’s endeavors.”

“Yes, please. I’m taking my time. Happy New Year!” The Wheel of Fortune Cohost continued GMA.

“Happy New Year, Ryan. May it be full of love!” Jarvis concluded.

Dick Clark’s rockin’ New Year’s Eve with Ryan Seacrest airs Tuesday, December 31st at 8pm ET on ABC and streams the next day on Hulu.
