JaDon Blair‍ is ready for Wednesday.

“I’m really looking forward to it,” said the Irish Security Committee 2025 on the occasion of National Signing Day.

“Ever since I decided on Notre Dame, I felt like it was the right place for me and I’m really looking forward to officially signing on Wednesday to get everything going.”

Blair committed to Notre Dame in July and accepted his offer from the Irish in April 2023. Still, the fact that the moment is finally almost here is difficult for him to understand.

“It’s kind of surreal, but at the same time it’s what I expected,” he said. “When God brought it into my life, he blessed me with the opportunity to go to the next level. So I can make the best decision possible, obviously with the guidance of Him and my parents, but just taking the next step and actually being a part of it, I’m super excited and just overall ready for it.”

Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman and defensive line coach Mike Mickens are as excited about Blair’s future as ever.

“The more I talk to Coach Mickens and Coach Freeman, the more excited I get,” he said. “The way they want to use me in the system, to this day they call me the missing piece. They still say I’m the missing piece of this defense to make this a national championship team, if not this year, because they’re doing phenomenal right now.

“They always keep in mind how much they need me and can’t wait to develop me further and use me in the scheme they are currently using.”

Blair won’t have to wait much longer to get to South Bend as he will enroll in December and participate in training leading up to the College Football Playoff.

“I’ll be there early, early,” he said. “I think I can get used to the speed of the game right from the start, learn how fast they play and a little bit of the calls that I might pick up here and there.”

And he is excited about the group that will be joining him, especially his fellow defenders.

“I personally feel like we have the best class, from skill position to big guys; Just the guys that we’ve already signed and are going to sign on Wednesday, like Dallas (Golden) and Mark (Zackery), Ethan (Long), we have guys all over the place. When you turn on the tape, the tape doesn’t lie.

“As you can see, we are all special in what we do, and that will be evident once we arrive at Notre Dame.”
