Sabrina Carpenter hosts an espresso martini tuck contest with Stephen Colbert

Sabrina Carpenter and Stephen Colbert enjoyed sipping some espresso martinis during their appearance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on Thursday in honor of their chart-topping song “Espresso.”

The 60-year-old late-night talk show host initially asked the 25-year-old pop singer if she would treat herself, and she replied, “I would like that.”

Noting that the drink was “very good,” Carpenter suggested, “Should we have a drinking contest?”

Colbert immediately took on the challenge and didn’t hold back, prompting the “Please Please Please” singer to jokingly tell him, “It’s so scary how quickly you drank that.”

“Well, these desks come at a price,” the comedian quipped.

Colbert then turned the conversation to her whopping six Grammy nominations, but Carpenter admitted with a laugh, “I’m very drunk now,” before pushing the martini glass aside.

However, she was then able to respond and share that “probably in five years” she will be able to look back on this time in her life and really process it all.

“I’m just trying to make eye contact with you and be as present as possible,” the “Bed Chem” singer joked.

“Do you know what i mean? But I feel so lucky. Singing is all I ever wanted to do. Writing songs is my favorite thing in the world. The fact that I was able to do it and people listened, while sentimental, is also a gift.”

Carpenter is nominated at the Grammys for best pop solo performance, best new artist, best song of the year and best record of the year. Her album “Short n’ Sweet” is nominated for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album.

In November, the “Feather” singer shared a video of herself bursting into tears of joy over the news.

Later in her interview with Colbert, the host brought out another drink for Carpenter to try: an eggnog, which he called “eggnog.”

“Don’t you fuck with a ‘nog?’ That’s a simple question, Ms. Carpenter. “Don’t you f–k with a nog?” he asked, causing the “Nonsense Christmas” singer to look a little taken aback as he cursed.

When he asked if she was “surprised,” he used a bad word, and she replied, “No, I’m not because they told me I was allowed to swear backstage and I forgot because “People usually tell me not to swear.”

“So, I came out here and it kind of looks like a church in here, and I thought, ‘Don’t curse.’ The Lord is upon us. “I shouldn’t do that,” and then you just did that.”

Carpenter ended the entertaining and light-hearted interview by saying, “Now that you mention it, I can’t put up with the ‘nog’ anymore.”
