Saif Ali Khan was attacked in an attempted robbery at his house in Bandra around 2:30 am to 3 am. According to the hospital statement, he was stabbed six times. The actor underwent surgery in the early hours of Thursday morning and is currently recovering.

At the time of the attempted robbery, Saif was at home with his wife Kareena and sons Taimur and Jeh. Saif tried to protect his family from the intruder and was injured in the altercation. A statement from Saif’s team said: “There was an attempted break-in at Mr Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently in hospital and undergoing surgery. We ask the media and fans for patience. It’s a police matter. We will keep you updated on the situation.”

Dr. Jalil Parkar of Lilavati Hospital told SCREEN that Saif Ali Khan was stabbed to death at his home in Bandra and was admitted to the hospital at 3:30 am. “Saif Ali Khan was stabbed to death at his house in Bandra by an unknown person and was admitted at 3:30 am. Saif has six stitches and two are deep. One of these is near the spine. He is treated by a team of doctors led by neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange, the plastic surgeon Dr. Leena Jain and the anesthetist Dr. Nisha Gandhi operates,” he said.
