Serena Williams responds to claims she bleached her skin

Serena Williams has denied allegations that she bleached her skin after a video went viral, leading fans to speculate that her complexion looked fairer.

During an Instagram Live session, Williams directly addressed the rumors. “For all the haters out there, I don’t bleach my skin,” she said. “There is such a thing as sunlight, and different lighting gives you different hues.”

“I’m a dark black woman and I love who I am and I love the way I look and that’s just not my thing. And when people do it, it’s their thing and they have every opportunity and they should,” she continued.

“I don’t judge, but you do. But that’s what this world is all about and I stay in my lane, the unbiased one… but no, I don’t actually bleach my skin. “So can we sort this out somehow?” explained the tennis player.

Alexis Ohanian health scare:

Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, is recovering from thyroid surgery after battling cancer.

Ohanian revealed that he had half of his thyroid removed due to “suspicious nodules.” He explained that he did not want to take any risks with his health given the cancer-related deaths in his family.

“I didn’t want to take any risks; The surgery went smoothly and I’m especially grateful this Thanksgiving because I got the call this morning that the half of my thyroid that was now removed was actually full of gnarly nodules that would most likely turn into cancer,” Alexis wrote. “The worst part is honestly I haven’t been able to train for two weeks, but the big guy will be back next week and I took my girls to Disney World this week so life is wonderful.”
