Shameik Moore responds to Laura Harrier’s “crazy” slam after she posted viral video that sparked relationship rumors

Laura Harrier asked Miles Morales actor Shameik Moore to remove a post featuring her after rumors circulated that they were a couple. It featured an old clip of them taking photos together, which Moore shared on his social media accounts with a spider emoji as a nod to Spider-Man.

She responded to a comment on TikTok that said, “Laura you settle for Shameik Moore, that’s less af,” and explained, “I’m literally engaged.” I don’t know why this man is posting to me lmao.”

Harrier claimed she texted the Miles Morales actor in a follow-up video posted to her TikTok account, which she said she made because it had not been removed at the time.

In her TikTok response, Laura Harrier denied her relationship with Shameik Moore.

“I never talk about this thing… I’m a really private person, so I honestly don’t really like to talk publicly about relationships or anything personal,” she began.

“When he first posted the video, a friend sent it to me and asked, ‘Did you know he posted that?’ And I thought: No. This was taken at a party a year ago when someone asked us to take photos together. I guess someone filmed it. I’m not sure why you would post this now.”

She explained that she texted him saying, “Hey, can you take this off?” I’m not sure why you would post that. Plus, I’m literally getting married and I don’t like this implication that there’s something going on between us, if that was your intention.

“It’s still running, which is fucking weird, you’re a fucking weirdo. I’m sorry you’re a fucking weirdo and I’m annoyed.”

Spider-Verse star Shameik Moore has since removed all of his posts of the video on TikTok, Instagram and Twitter as Harrier’s clip addressing the situation quickly went viral.

Moore then released his own video post in which he explained that “this is all a misunderstanding,” claiming that the whole “fanfiction” and “commentary” was strange and that he “meant no harm.”

“That’s it, it didn’t imply any relationship. I apologize for the misunderstanding I made,” he concluded.

Shameik Moore starred as Miles Morales in the first two films of the animated Spider-Verse trilogy and is expected to return in the final installment, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
