3 QUESTIONS

…about appetizers for the Christmas party

Still wondering what to cook for the holidays? Anthony asked culinary artist Emily Duncan for successful appetizer recipes.

Anthony: What is your favorite appetizer this time of year?

Emily: I really enjoy these dates stuffed with goat cheese and wrapped in bacon. They’re simple and delicious, and I can easily dress them up with ingredients like herbs, nuts, and my personal favorite, Mike’s Hot Honey.

Anthony: Like you, I also celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah. What can I bring to Hanukkah dinner that isn’t wrapped in bacon?

Emily: Great question! You can 100% omit the bacon in the stuffed dates for Hanukkah. They still taste super delicious with hot honey and olive oil. But if you’re looking for something different, I also make Cilantro Jalapeño Latkes for a fun twist on the classic! Here is the prescription.

Anthony: What’s a holiday app that’s sure to please any audience?

Emily: You can’t go wrong with a charcuterie board. Meat, cheese, fruit and bread ensure there is something for everyone. (Here’s a list of staples.) The biggest hit in my house, however, are my beef Wellington bites.
