Shoppers flock to St. Louis malls for Black Friday deals

ST. LOUIS – Early Friday morning, St. Louis malls were already full of crowds looking to get the best deals.

Starting at midnight, FOX 2’s Nissan Rogue Runner went in search of the early morning madness and people were already seen waiting outside a local Cabella’s.

The cooler weather has some waiting in their cars, but that doesn’t stop the morning crowd from showing up early.

From checking out and getting a head start on that particular deal shoppers have been waiting for to keeping up family traditions, online sales and early Black Friday deals don’t seem to have deterred Friday shoppers.

In St. Charles, Missouri, the first 250 shoppers in line at Bass Pro Shops received a gift card.

Over at the West County Center, there was a steady and busy increase of people making their way to a busy shopping center where marketing manager Christine Poehling unveiled a number of great deals for this year, which you can find on her website.

Plus, if you spend $200 at the center during your Black Friday shopping, you can receive a free Santa Claus digital picture pack.

Poehling says that in addition to greater crowds compared to recent years, product placement has also increased and stores and shelves are well stocked.

In addition to great offers with 20, 40 and 69 percent discounts, there are special offers for first responders, veterans, etc.

By 8 a.m., lines were already forming around Lego, which had several great holiday deals, and Lululemon, which had a completely new storefront.
