Shot-by-shot breakdown of Andy Cohen & Anderson Cooper’s New Year’s Eve

An annual tradition (except in 2022), best friends and co-hosts Andy Cohen, Anderson Cooper and Tequila host CNNs New Year’s Eve Live. Here’s how the best friends rang in the New Year and who they convinced to take a photo with them later on in the night.

The boys are back. Cohen laid down the ground rules: every hour on the hour, Cohen and Cooper share a shot of tequila. However, Cohen didn’t provide any details on how much would go into each shot. The two shot brilliantly; I mean, the first shot is always the easiest, right? Then Cooper shares his first words of wisdom of the evening: “As young people watch, at a certain point in your life you become the people you used to make fun of. And that’s exactly what we became.” We can only hope to be half as cool as she was at her age.

The second shot is always the hardest. As Cohen drank the second shot like a pro, Cooper fought through the shot of tequila and gagged as the liquor reached his mouth. As Cohen began to tease him, Cooper began to giggle as Cohen playfully pushed him. He’s a lightweight, folks, especially when Ralph Fiennes came over to recite the “Very Mindful, Very Demure” meme.

Who refused a shot: Roy Wood Jr., and for good reason.

Just before comedian Whitney Cummings celebrated 2024, Cohen and Cooper took their third shot, with Cooper clarifying that they had only done three shots just two hours before the new year. As Cummings continued to fire shot after shot at what happened that year, the tequila must have hit when he started hiding his face while laughing at Cummings’ jokes and then remained suspiciously silent, perhaps distancing himself from him It occurred to me that the night wasn’t over yet. Hang in there, Coop!

Who refused a shot: Whitney Cummings

Cooper began the remembrance portion of the evening by expressing his dislike for New Year’s Day since his father died on January 5, 1978 and he had always felt sadness during the holiday, choosing to work rather than celebrate.

Who took a shot: Andy Cohen’s parents

The duo toasted a glass of champagne with 50 Cent, who was partying in Vegas. Cooper in particular didn’t really drink his drink, maybe he was gone overnight.

Who accepted a glass: 50 cents

Cohen wants to keep the party going and suggests to Cooper that they try again just before the New Year. But it seems like Cooper wants to get out for the night. Someone bring this man some water. Cohen held the fort, leading Anthony Anderson and his mother, Mama Doris, in a game called the “Mom-ly Wed Game.”

Who accepted multiple shots: Diplo
Who could supposedly be a microdoser: Diplo too. However, there is no confirmation on this other than a thumbs up from the gentleman.
