AUBURN | Auburn enters Signing Day with 25 commitments and hopes to add more to secure a spot in the top five or better.

SIGNING DAY BLOG (All times central)

7:59 a.m. – Auburn cornerback Shamar Arnoux transfers and signs with Florida State.

7:15 a.m. – Defensive end Jared Smith has signed with AU. As a senior, he had 21 TFL and 10 sacks. OLB coach Josh Aldridge calls Smith an NFL benchmark and is excited about his potential to play early.

7:05 a.m. – Tight end Ryan Ghea signs with AU. Aigamaua says Ghea is a strong boy who is physically active and loves doing the dirty work.

6:49 a.m. – Jacobe Ward is Auburn’s fifth signee of the day. Thornton called Ward a great guard with a lot of natural power and strength. “He will be a superstar on and off the field.”

6:38 a.m. – Offensive lineman Kail Ellis has signed.

6:22 a.m. Tight end Hollis Davidson signs. TE coach Ben Aigamaua calls Davidson a raw, athletic prospect who started playing football.

6:12 a.m. – Offensive lineman Tai Buster is the second player of the day. OL coach Jake Thornton calls Buster a hidden gem and said he is versatile enough to play guard or tackle.

6:10 a.m. – Punter John McGuire is the first signee of the day. ST coach Tanner Burns said McGuire is a special player with many family connections to Auburn.

6:01 a.m. – Auburn begins the day ranked No. 6 nationally and No. 5 in the SEC in the Rivals team recruiting rankings.

6 a.m. – Faxes and/or emails may officially arrive from the Eastern Time Zone.
