‘SNL’ Parodies Timothée Chalamet on the Red Carpet at the Bob Dylan Biopic Premiere: Watch

Saturday Night Live takes a playful dig at Timothée Chalamet at the premiere of his upcoming film A complete unknown.

In a sketch during the December 7 episode hosted by Paul Mescal, SNL Actress Heidi Gardner plays a fictional BuzzFeed reporter on the red carpet for the debut of the new Bob Dylan biopic, in which Chalamet plays the legendary folk musician. The skit begins with Chalamet (played by Chloe Fineman) admitting that he’s had a “roast summer,” a reference to the Charli XCX-inspired trend.

“Oh man, it was crazy. “Crazy,” says Fineman’s Chalamet.

As the two continue their conversation, Dylan (portrayed by SNL(James Austin Johnson) comes by and is asked if he, too, had a roasting summer. “What?” answers the legendary musician. “A brat summer,” repeats Gardner’s reporter. “Have you had a brat summer?” Dylan, clearly thinking about food, ignores the question and thinks he’s being asked about bratwurst.

“All this sausage talk has made me hungry,” says Johnson’s Dylan in the artist’s signature gravelly voice. “I heard there’s a hot bar at the end, so if you’ll excuse me.”

The red carpet conversation continues as Bruce Springsteen (played by Andrew Dismukes) joins the group. “Baby, I was born to see this movie,” explains the boss. When Dylan asks if Springsteen visited the hot bar, Dismukes’ Springsteen replies, “Sure, Bob. The sentiment may be small, but the taste is large.”

Next up is U2 frontman Bono (played by Gladiator II Star Paul Mescal steps in. When asked about his own summer of roasting, Bono replies: “I didn’t have a summer of roasting. Couldn’t possibly. Because of the oppressive heat that climate change brings. We must act now.” Mescal’s Bono continues: “I just watched a documentary about the devastating effects of global warming. It said Hot frosty“, referring to a new Netflix Christmas movie.

A complete unknownwhich hits theaters on Christmas Day, also stars Elle Fanning, Monica Barbaro and Edward Norton. The biographical drama is inspired by Elijah Wald’s 2015 book Dylan goes electric. Director James Mangold has revealed that Dylan himself gave feedback on the script.

Fans first saw Chalamet filming in New York earlier this year. Mangold confirmed that Chalamet himself will sing in the film, and to prepare, the actor sifted through 12 hours of unreleased Dylan tracks sent to him by the musician’s longtime manager and producer Jeff Rosen.

The SNL The episode also featured breakthrough country star Shaboozey, who made his debut as a musical guest on the long-running sketch comedy show and performed his 19-week Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper “A Bar” alongside his new ballad “Good News.” Song (Tipsy).”
