A Saturday Night Live The season isn’t complete without a joke – no matter how subtle Colin Jost‘s wife, actress Scarlett Johansson.

In the Saturday, December 14 episode, cast Andrew Dismukes made a quick joke about Johansson, 40, being the breadwinner in her and Jost’s marriage.

Dismukes, 29, portrayed a “bald man” in the “Weekend Update” segment and shared his opinion on the new British court ruling banning harassment of men with hair loss. At one point, Dismukes pretended to wipe his bare head with a towel.

“Do you think that’s funny, Colin? “I have to carry around a little bit of shame in case my head gets wet,” Dismukes joked. “(I) challenge you to laugh. I love seeing your ass in court.”

He added, “My hairless little hands have some of your wife’s Marvel money!”

Jost, 42, quickly interrupted Dismukes to end the segment as he burst out laughing.

Jost, the co-host of SNLWeekend Update has been married to Johansson since 2020. They first met on the set of the NBC variety show. (Johansson, of course, is perhaps best known for her role as Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff in a number of Marvel films, including 2021 Black widow.)

“We laugh a lot, communicate with each other and check in,” Johansson, who shares son Cosmo with Jost, continued CBS Morning in June 2023. “I am married to a writer, he is a comedy writer. He can get very heady at times, he’s kind of an introvert. I’m an extrovert, so I think the key for us is to keep checking in and asking at the end of the day, ‘How was your day?'”

Johansson also understands that her life can become fodder for her SNL jokes.

“I rarely look now (SNL) without feeling a sense of… not overwhelming panic, but just a slight suppressive panic because I just feel like at any moment something is going to fall apart,” Johansson previously said during a July 2021 appearance The Kelly Clarkson Show. “And that’s the excitement SNL And for all target groups, right? Because it’s absolutely live.”

Colin Jost and Michael Che’s annual “joke swap” segment on Saturday Night Live may be a tradition, but Jost’s wife Scarlett Johansson wanted no part of it. Johansson, 39, said she “blacked out” when she saw her photo during the “Weekend Update” segment in which Jost, 42, and Che, 41, write outrageous jokes to each other (…)

At the time, she continued, “But when you get into it emotionally and not just entertain it, it takes on a little bit of a different life.”

In addition to Dismukes’ subtle joke about Johansson’s Marvel salary on Saturday, the actress was also famously mentioned by name in other “Weekend Update” segments. Jost’s co-host, Michael Cheoften secretly sneaks a reference into their annual holiday joke exchange in annual Christmas episodes.
