Snow, arctic gusts, strong winds and light wind chills are spreading across western Michigan

WEST MICHIGAN – More winter weather is on the way through Thursday. There will also be an arctic blast coming and wind speeds will increase significantly. WINTER STORM WARNINGS and WINTER WEATHER ADVISORS remain in effect until Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Our southern Berrien, Cass and St. Joseph counties are under an advisory until Thursday at 1 p.m. See image below.

Lots of upper-level energy creating lift in the atmosphere, along with the arrival of arctic air, will continue to produce snow through Thursday. Check out our FutureTrack image below.

The wind will become significantly stronger this evening and tonight with the arrival of arctic air. We expect winds from the west at 15 to 25 mph, with some 40/45 gusts possible along the lakeshore. See pictures below. Note the orange, red and magenta colors associated with the higher wind speeds.
