Snow stops, temperatures rise to single digits – Boston News, Weather, Sports

Use caution during the evening commute this Friday, especially in areas farther east where more than 3 inches of snow could accumulate.

While central Massachusetts will dry out earlier this evening, areas farther east such as the Cape will take longer to dry out around 11pm and midnight tonight.

Temperatures will drop overnight! On Saturday we will wake up to temperatures in the high 20s, with highs in the low to mid 30s. There will be more clouds than sun and we can’t rule out a patchy shower.

Winds will gust to 20 to 25 mph, making it feel like the mid to upper 20s during the warmest part of the day on Saturday.

The really cold air comes on Sunday. A massive decline in the jet stream will allow arctic air to rush into New England, causing temperatures to plummet. Lows Sunday morning will dip into the single digits, with highs only in the low 20s. Some places in north-central Massachusetts and southwestern New Hampshire will have difficulty getting out of the teen ranges. At least the sky will be bright.

Monday will be another icy but sunny day. Morning temperatures will drop a few degrees more than Sunday, with highs in the mid to upper 20s.

Tuesday is Christmas Eve and we have a chance for a few snow showers! Highs will be back in the 30s. Christmas Day is currently looking dry for most, with highs in the 30s. However, we are monitoring the possibility of some showers near the Cape. Thursday and Friday it will be milder at around 40 degrees and dry.

Happy Holidays!
