SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3 social media reactions are in

The social media embargo for Mufasa: The Lion King lifted yesterday And not to be outdone (pun intended), Paramount Pictures also gave critics a chance to express their thoughts about it Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Both films will compete against each other on December 20th.

The consensus is mostly positive, and all signs point to this being a slightly more mature – and emotional – version of the popular SEGA franchise.

Keanu Reeves is being praised for his version of Shadow and it probably won’t surprise you to learn that Jim Carrey steals the show. Filmmaker Jeff Fowler has ended a franchise that began with controversy (thanks to Sonic’s new look, which was later revised when the film was delayed) on a high, and it sounds like we’re left wanting more.

For that to happen, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has to assert itself against it Mufasa: The Lion King. Both films also have to compete with leftovers like Evil And Moana 2both of which broke box office records.

Sonic the Hedgehog returns to the big screen this holiday season with his most exciting adventure yet.

Sonic, Knuckles and Tails reunite against a powerful new foe, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers they have never faced before. With their abilities inferior in every way, Team Sonic must find an unlikely alliance in the hopes of stopping Shadow and protecting the planet.

Director Jeff Fowler returns along with our all-star cast including Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Idris Elba, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, Natasha Rothwell, Shemar Moore, Adam Pally, Lee Majdoub, newcomers Alyla Browne and Krysten Ritter, with Keanu Reeves joining the franchise as Shadow the Hedgehog.

The story was written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller; They also co-wrote the screenplay with John Whittington.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 hits theaters on December 20th.
