Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is hitting theaters later this week, but footage and descriptions of the threequel’s post-credits scene are already making the rounds on social media platforms like X, Reddit, and TikTok.

How? We can’t imagine any critic being bold enough to include these scenes, so it’s probably a case of “reap what you sow” for Paramount Pictures after inviting influencers and YouTubers to early screenings.

Regardless, we won’t be posting the footage here (it’s not hard to find), but we can tell you what’s currently being shared online.

That’s what it means Sonic the Hedgehog 3 ends with Sonic, Knuckles and Tails competing to see who is the fastest. Sonic wins easily, but runs too far into the distance and finds himself alone in a forest on the outskirts of New York. Then Metal Sonic appears and in the ensuing fight our hero is surrounded by a whole squadron of robots.

Things are looking bleak for poor Sonic, and then Amy appears and saves him (we couldn’t verify who is playing the character or if she even speaks in the Stinger).

For those of you who don’t know, Metal Sonic is a “Badnik” robot created by Dr. Eggman was secretly created to kill the speedster. Usually in the games and comics there’s one main Metal Sonic rather than a mindless army of them, so he could be the big bad of a potential fourth film controlling these soldiers.

As for Amy, Sonic’s favorite pink hedgehog is a fan favorite and a character that fans have been waiting a long time to see made into a movie.

In another scene, it is revealed that Keanu Reeves’ Shadow is still alive after his apparent death at the beginning of the film. We’d bet that this is a possibility to set up a film or streaming spin-off for the antihero similar to Paramount+ ankle Series.

Sonic the Hedgehog Franchise director Jeff Fowler previously confirmed that we will see “new characters” in this latest film, saying: “It’s fun to watch the fan debates online about who’s next and who will be teased at the end of the film.”

“We have a lot of the same conversations. We all have our favorites on the filmmaking side and we all make good arguments that it should be this or that.” It’s fun to keep that anticipation going,” he added. “This movie is no different from teasing new characters.”
