South Korea’s worst aviation disaster will pose tough questions for airline bosses | World News

This is South Korea’s worst domestic civil aviation disaster.

Video from the ground shows the plane exploding into a fireball.

A local fire official said The crash was probably caused due to a bird strike and weather conditions.

However, others suggested that the crash may have been caused by landing gear failure.

Experts said South Korea’s aviation industry had a solid track record of safety and this was the first fatal accident Jeju Air had experienced since its launch.

In a press conference, the company’s CEO said there were no previous accidents involving the crashed plane.

Kim E-bae also added that there were no early signs of the plane malfunctioning.

He has promised to cooperate with the government in investigating the cause of the accident.

And he faces tough questions – it’s a catastrophic crash and the many survivors will be searching for answers.

Just two days ago, a passenger who was reportedly traveling on the same plane said there was an engine failure while boarding.

According to Yonhap News Agency, a passenger who boarded Jeju Air Flight 7C2216 said: “I was on the same plane at the time and the engine stopped several times.”

He said he flew from Muan International Airport to Bangkok and was worried: “I told the flight attendants and they said there was no problem.”

He claimed that other passengers also had concerns and that the plane was delayed by an hour “due to airport problems.”
