Spartz: It will take courageous and decisive leadership to turn this “Titanic” back from its catastrophic course.

Noblesville, IN – Today, Rep. Victoria Spartz released the following statement regarding their upcoming speaker election on January 3, 2025:

“Congress has abandoned its constitutional duty to the American people to properly oversee the use of their hard-earned money paid in taxes. Our next speaker must show bold leadership to get our country back on track before this Titanic hits an iceberg at any moment. Major fiscal disasters often lead to unrest and greater government control. If we are serious about governing, our next Speaker must PUBLICLY COMMIT to creating at least temporary structures in the House for: 1) approvals; 2) equalization policies and 3) expenditure audits. We also need to engage competent, unbiased “non-swamp” experts to help us, at least gradually, emerge from this serious financial crisis. The current STRUCTURES with their perverse incentives have not worked for decades and will not suddenly work. We must have a vision and a concrete PLAN to live up to the President Trumps agenda for the American people that I have not seen from our current speaker despite countless discussions and public promises. The fate of our republic is at stake and Congress, the ARTICLE 1 BRANCH with its ultimate authority to make laws and manage our nation’s finances, must begin fulfilling its constitutional duties – not our republic at the expense of our children for sale.”
