Christmas is just around the corner, the goose is getting fat and it’s almost time for Spotify Wrapped 2024, the annual analysis of what you’ve heard – assuming you heard it on Spotify, of course.

We expect the annual roundup to be released any day – as we noted in our Spotify Wrapped 2024 release date predictions, the smart money will now launch on December 4th, based on a combination of historical data and current rumors. However, Spotify could go rogue and choose December 11th or another date instead.

But how do you ensure Wrapped arrives safely? In the past, rollouts have been slightly staggered in different regions, so the timing of the rollout is a little out of your control – but Spotify has released some details on how to make sure you’re ready in time for those important social media shares .

Go to the Spotify app in the Apple App Store (if you’re using an iPhone) or the Google Play Store (for Android fans) and see if you see an Update button. If this is the case, update the app to the latest version. That’s currently version 8.9.94 on iPhone or 8.9.96.476 on Android, although Spotify may release another update before Wrapped arrives in 2024.

We think it’s wiser to make sure your apps are updated early next week – and also have a backup plan in case Wrapped runs into problems like it did last year…

Update or reinstall the app
Do it manually: Try typing spotify:datastories:wrapped or Packed in 2024 in the search bar
Try Spotify mobile website

Still, there’s always a chance that Wrapped will go a little smoother this year. Therefore, the best advice is still to make sure the app is updated.

Whether you want to impress people with your top-notch music taste — or in my case, your worrying Charli XCX obsession — or just want to see how Spotify follows up on “Sound Town” or its artists’ video messages this year, you should don’t have to wait long.
