It’s a great day for music lovers – Spotify Wrapped and Apple Music Replay are both retired!

The two music streamers published their “annual reviews” on Wednesday. While some users may be happy with their analysis, others face some harsh truths or disagree with it at all.

Whatever the revelation, music streamers can rejoice or despair as Spotify and Apple Music have released personalized, data-driven reports with insights into whose music they listened to the most and for how long.

When will Spotify Wrapped be released in 2024?

What is Spotify Wrapped?

Spotify Wrapped is a year-end roundup of the songs, artists, genres, and subgenres you streamed the most. Spotify has been creating personalized annual reviews for users since 2015, originally known as “Annual Review.”

Typically, Spotify Wrapped displays a user’s most popular songs, artists, and genres. Users are encouraged to share their Spotify Wrapped on social media. The streaming platform also creates a playlist of a user’s 100 most streamed songs and shares interesting facts such as: B. whether he is in the top 1% of Taylor Swift listeners or what his music aura looks like.

However, Spotify itself took to social media to dispel these rumors and reassure users that the tracking would continue into November. On the last day of October, the audio streamer posted a Halloween graphic of a jack-o-lantern filled with candy and a message that read, “Spotify Wrapped doesn’t stop counting on October 31st.”

Other than that reassurance it is remains unclear if Spotify does Stop tracking listener data. All we know is that it’s sometime between November 1st and the time Wrapped is released.

What’s new in Spotify Wrapped 2024?

While some elements of this year’s report seem familiar, there are plenty of shiny new bells and whistles.

One such feature is Your Music Evolution, a data-driven history of the music phases you’ve gone through throughout the year. With up to three distinct phases, the concept seems appropriate for 2024, where Taylor Swift broke records with her “Eras Tour” and changed vocabulary as laypeople began to coin their own “eras.”

Like Apple Music’s Replay feature, Spotify has also added Listening Streaks to its year-end report, which shows how many days in a row you tuned in to a particular artist. This year, iPhone users with iOS 18.1 or later will be able to access the Replay experience directly from the Music app via the Home, New, and Search tabs. Others will still need to go to replay.music.apple.com on mobile or desktop.

What’s new in Apple Music Replay 2024?

This year, the streaming giant also released a replay exclusively for artists, giving music creators insights such as: B. which of their songs were most discovered via Shazam and in which city most of their listeners live.
