Sri Lanka wins the first T20 international against New Zealand

MOUNT MAUNGANUI, New Zealand (AP) — Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl in the first Twenty20 international against New Zealand at Bay Oval on Saturday.

New Zealand named wicketkeeper Mitchell Hay, opener Tim Robinson and all-rounder Zakary Foukes to play their first international matches at home. Hay made his debut against Sri Lanka last month and Foulkes made his T20 debut in Pakistan in April.

New Zealand will be without Kane Williamson and Devon Conway, who are no longer under contract with New Zealand Cricket, injured bowlers Ben Sears and Kyle Jamieson, and Finn Allen and Adam Milne, who are playing in the Australian Big Bash League.

Sri Lanka have named an experienced side as they attempt to win a white-ball international for the first time in New Zealand.
