If your New Year’s resolutions include reading more, you’re in luck because a new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race coming soon this week. Season 17 premieres Friday, January 3rd at 8pm ET on MTV. RuPaul will once again be joined by judges Michelle Visage, Carson Cressley, Ross Mathews and Ts Madison to crown this season’s drag superstar. The season premiere also features a very special guest judge, someone who knows a lot about a woman’s world: Katy Perry. The new season features 14 queens and also brings with it a brand new twist on the competition: the Badonka Dunk Tank, a real dunk tank that can give contestants immunity and save them from elimination.

Episodes of Drag Race airs weekly on Fridays and is immediately followed by the series’ popular aftershow, Not stowed. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the latest season of RuPaul’s Drag Race when it premieres this week.

RuPaul’s Drag Race Judges and participants of the 17th season

This season, RuPaul is joined by returning judges Michelle Visage, Carson Cressley, Ross Mathews and Ts Madison. Katy Perry will appear as a guest judge on the premiere episode this week. Guest judges for the remainder of the season include Sandra Bernhard, Julia Schlaepfer, Paul W. Downs, Hunter Schafer, Quinta Brunson, Jamal Sims, Law Roach and Adam Lambert, Betsey Johnson, Whitney Cummings, Sam Smith, Jerrod Carmichael, June Diane Raphael, Doechii and Tracee Ellis Ross.
