It was a mild end to 2024! Even though more clouds appeared on Tuesday afternoon, temperatures still reached a balmy 50°C! We will remain dry until 9.30pm then between 10pm and 11pm rain will spread across the state from southwest to northeast, allowing steady rain to fall from the sky by midnight and may be heavy at times with isolated lightning/thunder ending around dawn New Year’s morning! It will be mostly dry during the daylight hours on New Year’s Day, but further showers will occur in the evening, with some snow showers in the northwest hills. The big story is the strong/damaging winds Wednesday evening and Thursday with a WIND WARNING for the entire state with gusts of 45-55 mph. Expect isolated power outages!! Typical cold temperatures in January and dry on Friday and weekend!!

Tonight: Rain, heavy at times with some lightning/thunder from midnight to 4am on New Year’s morning. Lows near 40°.

New Year: Lots of clouds, it will be windy with patchy late/evening rain and snow showers. Highs in the mid to upper 40s. Very windy Wednesday evening. Wind warning!!

Thursday: Sun and clouds, very windy with isolated power outages. Highs in the mid to upper 30s. The wind chill will be around 20 degrees all day!!

Friday: Mostly sunny, windy and seasonally cold with highs in the mid 30s.

Saturday: Partly sunny, windy and cold. Highs will be in the mid 20s to low 30s with wind chills in the upper teens and lower 20s throughout the day.

Sunday: Sun and clouds, windy and cold with highs in the mid 20s to low 30s, with wind chills in the upper teens to low 20s throughout the day

Monday: Trendy dryer. Snow appears to be sticking around to our south. Highs will be in the mid 20s to low 30s.

Tuesday: Scattered clouds with highs in the low 30s.
