Still in the hunt, Bengals keep track; Joe Burrow shares record and fire with Tom Brady

BURROW REFLECTS

Burrow left the media sleepless after an emotional courtside performance in the final minute of last Sunday’s win over the Titans. During his candid and thoughtful post-practice press call (he doesn’t know anyone else) on Wednesday, Burrow spent most of his 20 minutes explaining what got him over the top.

To give you an idea, he used a root of the word “frustration” about a dozen times on Wednesday, but let us know he’s fine with head coach Zac Taylor.

As you might expect, it started with Burrows getting angry at himself as he suffered his first multiple-interception game of the season, a third-down turnover when he fumbled in the red zone, and his first first-half interception since then 2022 AFC title thrown game.

“If the game stays close until the end, I don’t react that way in that situation,” Burrow said. “Usually when I get frustrated like that, I get frustrated with my own starting mistakes, and then we’re in control of the game against a team that I feel like we’re better at, and when we don’t play along.” In my opinion After, against a team like that, you have the luxury of being a little emotional on the sideline in that situation because the game is out of reach and you don’t have to go out there again to make a play to win the game.

“In this situation, I can probably control my emotions better,” Burrow said. “(Taylor) just wanted to tell me to be happy with the win. And I appreciate that about him because I can lose myself. Just like anyone can. You get lost in the adversity of the season and you can’t bear to win. “Of course I’ve tried to get better at it and I appreciate that. I want us to be great. Offensively, I want us to be perfect, and if we’re not, it’s going to be frustrating for me.”

Burrow and Tayor remain presidents of each other’s fan clubs.

“He has something special. That’s what makes him who he is. And I don’t want to change that for a second, because who he is and what defines him is what separates Joe Burrow from everyone else on this planet,” Taylor said before practice. “We are together a lot. More than any other member of my family. I love working with him every day. I love the edges on it. It’s not always perfect between us when we’re out there and dealing with moments, but that’s just a part of his competitiveness that I love and I wouldn’t change a thing about him.”
