‘Stranger Things’ actor dies after battle with cancer

Mark Withers, a veteran actor who had roles in “Stranger Things” and “Dynasty,” has died.

He was 77.

Deadline reported that Withers’ daughter, Jessie Withers announced his death on Friday. She said he died Nov. 22 after battling pancreatic cancer.

“He faced his illness with the same strength and dignity that he brought to his craft, leaving behind a legacy full of warmth, humor and dedication, coupled with his remarkable ability to make every role unforgettable,” she told Variety. “Colleagues, friends and fans alike will fondly remember Mark’s enduring talent and commitment to the industry.”

A native of Binghamton, New York, Withers has a long list of credits listed on his IMDB page. This also includes the role of “Gary” in “Stranger Things” in 2016.

According to Deadline, he appeared in six episodes as “Ted Dinard” in the first season of “Dynasty.”

He has also had roles in shows such as Wonder Woman, Magnum PI, The Dukes of Hazzard, Hill Street Blues, Days of Our Lives, Matlock, Frasier and The King of . Queens,” “Criminal Minds,” “Dallas” and “Sense8.”
