Stranger Things season 5 production completes, release date 2025

“Stranger Things” is (almost) over.

Production on the fifth and final season of the Netflix hit series has been completed, the streamer announced on Friday. A release date for the finale has not yet been announced, but Netflix has confirmed that the show will return in 2025.

“This is a conclusion to ‘Stranger Things,'” Netflix posted on X with some behind-the-scenes photos. “See you in 2025.”

The entire cast is back for Season 5: Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, David Harbor as Jim Hopper, Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Noah Schnapp as Will Byers , Joe Keery as Steve Harrington, Sadie Sink as Max Mayfield, Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers, Maya Hawke as Robin Buckley, Brett Gelman as Murray Bauman, Priah Ferguson as Erica Sinclair and Jamie Campbell Bower as Vecna. “Terminator” star Linda Hamilton also joins the cast in a mysterious role.

Season 4 premiered in two parts in summer 2022 and was released separately in May and July. The episodes were oversized – all over 60 minutes, and the final episode of Part 2 was over two hours long. It ended with a fierce battle against the evil Vecna and the Demogorgons in the Upside Down, where popular newcomer Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) sacrificed himself to save the gang. Vecna is weakened as a result, but remains strong enough to turn Hawkins on his head. All of the main cast survive, but Max is left in a coma after Vecna takes control of her body.
