Stream John Travolta's underrated action thriller From Paris with Love for free

joins forces with Mission: Impossible Lead actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers and the director and writer behind Liam Neeson’s hit action film TakenPierre Morel and Luc Besson for the action thriller From Paris with love
which is expected to end up in free streaming. This story about a CIA rookie who teams up with an armed veteran spy may have been largely filmed upon release, but is worth a second look when it streams for free in 2025.

Directed by Pierre Morel, written by Adi Hasak and based on a story by Luc Besson, From Paris with love only scored 37% on Rotten Tomatoes, although audiences were slightly more enthusiastic at 54%. “Although it’s not without charm – especially John Travolta’s endearingly over-the-top performance – From Paris with love is too convoluted and disjointed to be satisfactory,” is the consensus of critics. “James Reese (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) has a good job as an auxiliary ambassador to France, but his true passion is a part-time job and working in a supporting role at the CIA. He would love to be a full-fledged agent and can hardly believe his luck when he gets a job with Charlie Wax (John Travolta). Trigger-happy Charlie soon has James crying for his desk job, but when he learns that the same guys they’re trying to catch are after him, James realizes Charlie may be his only chance of survival.”

John Travolta and Pierre Morel hoped that From Paris With Love would spawn an action franchise

Back then, more than a decade ago now, in 2021, star John Travolta and director Pierre Morel had hoped so From Paris with love would spark a new action film franchise. “You don’t get the usual postcard picture,” Morel said in an interview with NJ. “In every film that comes from a foreign production, the same things are shot. Since I live in Paris, I don’t even notice the Eiffel Tower anymore. Paris, with its coarseness, is one of those big cities. It’s dirty, it’s not that much fun. All big cities – London, New York – all have a dark side.” Travolta, on the other hand, was fully involved with the return and departure to new locations in several sequels.

“We could do ‘From London With Love,’ ‘From Prague With Love.'” This is one of the few films that I would like as a franchise. I’m not a big fan of sequels, but I would like this one.”
