ATLANTA – A weather warning has been issued for Saturday night into early Sunday as we monitor heavy rain and thunderstorms. Storms can produce gusty winds, frequent lightning and hail. A short-term upswing cannot be ruled out, but the overall risk of a tornado is very low.

There is a low (Level 1) to low (Level 2) risk of severe weather across our area. A tornado warning is in effect until 9 a.m. for the Atlanta metropolitan area

A pronounced line of storms will move into the state between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. This increases the risk of severe weather and widespread heavy rainfall.

The line of storms is pushing east and will reach the Atlanta metropolitan area around sunrise. You can follow live updates of the storms and their impacts across metro Atlanta and northern Georgia below.
