The New Orleans Saints lost their third straight game, and this was the first against a non-playoff team. The Las Vegas Raiders beat the Saints by 15 points, but it could have been worse. Any time you say things could have been worse against the Raiders, you’re in trouble.

The Saints didn’t score a point in the second half. They struggled to stop the Raiders’ running game and Ameer Abdullah had a career day. Things got so bad that Raiders defenders started making fun of Cameron Jordan’s sacking celebration.

This week it’s much easier to find duds than stallions. The bar for a stallion was very low. However, there were some players who made a few flash plays.

Here are the key facts about the Saints’ terrible loss to the Raiders:

Bolt: ST JT Grey

In a game like this, one move can earn you a stud title. The special teams ace stopped a Matthew Hayball from entering the end zone. The ball hit the ground at the one-yard line and Gray hit the ball back to the five-yard line. It was the Raiders’ worst starting position of the day.

Stud: QB Spencer Rattler

There were some tough moments, but this was the best game he played in his rookie season. Rattler showed good mobility and made some quick plays, but things got more difficult in the second half. He had problems with high passes. They also saw Rattler get involved in a few turnover-worthy plays. Rattler had a good first half, but he has yet to put together a complete game. His first half was good enough to consider him a player in such an ugly game.

Breeding stallion: CB Kool-Aid McKinstry

McKinstry was tested a few times and generally performed well. He was in the area for the final touchdown in Las Vegas, but he was in no man’s land. It’s hard to blame him. He did a good job stopping a deep shot and also worked with Tyrann Mathieu on a deep-in route in the third quarter.

Breeding stallion: LS Zach Wood

You have to show the long snappers some love when they see the field so often, and Wood saw the field at least nine times, with seven punts, a field goal and an extra point for the special teams unit. For years he has been excellent at hitting the ball exactly where it needs to be and not being penalized when blocking. This type of effectiveness has a positive impact on the team and is often overlooked, even when performed at an extremely high level.

Dud: pass rush

After very strong performances against the New York Giants and Washington Commanders, the pass rush unit has been pretty much nowhere to be found in the last two games. The Saints only had one sack on the day, and Cameron Jordan had started the game very early, and beyond that, the pressure was non-existent except for a few lucky moments.

Duds: Reception group

The receiving core dropped passes almost the entire game, even when they were well placed. Only two of the ten players targeted by Spencer Rattler in this game completed every goal they had, and both only had one goal (Kendre Miller and Jamaal Williams). Of the 16 incompletions Rattler threw in that game, at least six, if not more, had to have been drops. In the second half, it was almost common for a play to either be dropped or called back due to a penalty.

Duds: Interior offensive line

The Saints’ interior offensive line has been one of their biggest disadvantages all season. The absence of Erik McCoy and Lucas Patrick has now proven how important offensive starters are, as the Saints were under pressure quite a bit in this game and Rattler was sacked three times for 27 yards, although he was able to pick up at least 3-4 more yards due to his mobility . We’ll see how it’s handled in the offseason, but there’s definitely a need at this point.
