Suns-Warriors updates: Undermanned Phoenix visits struggling Golden State

The Phoenix Suns (15-15) play the Golden State Warriors (15-15) on Saturday, airing on Arizona’s Family (Chapter 3 in Phoenix) and NBA TV at 6:30 p.m

Both teams are playing their second consecutive game and the second of their four-game Pacific Division series. The Suns won their last game against the Warriors on November 30th, 113-105.

Phoenix and Golden State have been struggling lately, with both teams losing seven of their last 10 games. Phoenix has lost three of its last four games without Devin Booker (left groin). This also includes the 98:89 home loss against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday. Booker remains sidelined for Saturday’s game. The Suns are led by Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal.

The Stephen Curry-led Warriors have been in a deeper hole for more than a month and have lost six of their last seven games, including a 102-92 loss at the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday.

Starting lineups

The Suns’ starting five is Tyus Jones, Bradley Beal, Ryan Dunn, Kevin Durant and Mason Plumlee.

The Warriors will open with Dennis Schröder taking over at point, Curry, Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green after he was placed available, and Trayce Jackson-Davis at center.

The undermanned Phoenix will be without several other key players besides Booker. Their starting center Jusuf Nurkic will serve his three-game suspension for his involvement in an altercation against Dallas. Grayson Allen (concussion protocol) and Bol Bol (left knee contusion) are also out. Two of the Suns’ two-way players, Collin Gillespie and TyTy Washington Jr., are missing from the G League.

The Warriors’ Draymond Green (left lower back contusion) and Moses Moody (treatment for a left knee injury) are questionable. Gary Payton II (left calf strain) is out.
