Taylor Swift has been named Spotify’s top artist of 2024

Taylor Swift has enchanted fans again.

The pop star took the top spot on Spotify’s annual top global artists list for the second year in a row, the streaming service announced Wednesday.

The global artist list reflects the most streamed musicians of the year among Spotify users around the world. According to Spotify, Swift logged more than 26.6 billion streams this year in the crowded field of pop music releases.

“In her Global Top Artist era,” Spotify wrote on X, congratulating the artist.

Her album The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology, released in April, was the most streamed album on Spotify this year.

Additionally, “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” was the sixth most streamed album on the platform this year and “Lover” was the eighth most streamed album.

To celebrate Swift’s success this year, Spotify released in-app Easter eggs for Swifties, including custom animations inspired by her “Eras Tour.” Additionally, Swift’s Spotify profile has been given a Wrapped badge.

The success comes as Swift wraps up her Eras Tour, a celebration of her expansive career that began in March 2023. The tour makes its final stop this weekend in Vancouver, where Swift will perform her final three shows.

Some fans who were among Swift’s top listeners on Spotify received a video message from the singer in their Wrapped packages.

“Well hello,” she says in the video. “I just wanted to say a huge thank you for being one of my top listeners on Spotify. That’s so kind of you. I look back on this year and think about how special it was for us to be on the Eras Tour.” ..and thank you if you saw the show. Thank you for streaming the music and I really appreciate everything you’ve done, including listening to my music.”

The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, Drake and Billie Eilish rounded out the top five of Spotify’s global artist list after Swift.

Spotify users celebrated the release of Wrapped and the unveiling of the best music moments of the year on Wednesday.
