The 2024 Spotify Wrapped data crash is here – and Taylor Swift is back on top.

Swift was the most streamed artist worldwide on Spotify in 2024, securing the crown for the second year in a row. This is mainly due to their latest album “The Tortured Poets Department,” which was the most streamed album of the year on Spotify. In total, Swift’s music generated more than 26.6 billion streams on the platform this year.

After Swift, The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, Drake and Billie Eilish were the world’s most streamed Spotify artists of the year. (Below you’ll find the complete top 10 lists including artists, albums, songs and more.)

Swift’s “Tortured Poets” broke several Spotify records, including becoming the first album to reach 300 million streams in a day and more than 1 billion streams in its first week of release. Its enormous popularity led to a record year for female artists, reaching the top eight of the ten most streamed albums worldwide on Spotify. They were “Hit Me Hard and Soft” by Billie Eilish (No. 2), “Short n’ Sweet” by Sabrina Carpenter (No. 3), “Mañana Será Bonito” by Karol G (No. 4) and “Eternal Sunshine.” “by Ariana Grande” (No. 5), Swift’s “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” (No. 6), SZA’s “SOS” (No. 7) and Swift’s “Lover” (No. 8).

To celebrate Swift’s renewed rise as the most-streamed artist, Spotify is adding a few sprinkles for her fans. For the first time, Spotify is adding a Wrapped badge to Taylor Swift’s Spotify profile, marking the first year of what the company says is an annual award. In addition, Spotify is launching an Easter Egg experience for Swifties: When listening to Taylor songs on Spotify, fans will see individual mini-animations on the app’s play button tailored to the eras of their discography (e.g. it will Giving glitter for “Swifties”). “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” and seagulls for “1989 (Taylor’s Version)”. In a partnership with Snapchat, Swift fans worldwide will find special 2024 Wrapped wristbands – with a Global Top Artist Badge charm – through an AR lens in the Snapchat app. Additionally, Spotify will launch out-of-home installations with Swift in cities such as New York, Toronto, Jakarta, São Paulo, Manila, Mexico City, London, Berlin, Los Angeles, Nashville and Miami.

Meanwhile, Spotify’s most streamed songs worldwide in 2024 were: “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter with more than 1.6 billion streams worldwide, followed by “Beautiful Things” by Benson Boone, “Birds of a Feather” by Eilish, “Gata Only ” by FloyyMenor and Cris MJ and “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims.

Additionally, for the first time, Spotify Wrapped features the top audiobooks of the year, with Sarah J. Maas the No. 1 most-streamed author and her successful Fantasy romance series “A Court of Thorns and Roses” took first place in audiobook.

Starting Wednesday, users can access their personalized “2024 Wrapped Experience” via the Spotify mobile app. This year, thousands of artists return thank-you clips to their top fans, including Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter, Peso Pluma, Rosé and Usher.

New this year to Wrapped: Your Music Evolution, a data story that promises to “unveil the musical phases that uniquely shaped your year”; Each user sees up to three music phases, displayed with descriptions, genres and artists. Additionally, with Longest Listening Streak, fans can now see the artist they liked most this year alongside Top Listeners, which reveals what percentage of listeners their favorite artist belongs to.

Also new is an AI-generated podcast about your Spotify Wrapped music listening in 2024, created using Google’s NotebookLM AI tool and narrated by two presenters (available in English in select markets). Additionally, Spotify’s AI DJ provides commentary on your Wrapped (available in English and Spanish) and the AI ​​Playlist feature allows premium users to create personalized playlists using their Wrapped data.
