Days after Taylor Swift wrapped up her record-breaking Eras Tour, the pop superstar paid some of her younger fans a visit at a children’s hospital in Kansas City.

On Thursday, December 12, the “Karma” singer stopped by Children’s Mercy Hospital, leaving staff, patients and their families shocked — and thrilled.

In an Instagram post shared by a pediatric nurse at the hospital, Swift, 34, posed for a smiling group photo with hospital staff.

“TAYLOR SWIFT WAS IN THE SEDATION WARD‼️‼️ Best day ever!!!” she captioned the post.

A woman named Anita Belt also shared sweet photos on Facebook of Swift visiting a patient named Rylie. In one fell swoop, the Grammy winner gave Rylie a signed copy of her Eras Tour memorial book.

“Children’s Mercy Hospital does its best to care for seriously ill children, comfort families and bring a little joy when they can. Today did not disappoint! Thank you Taylor Swift for bringing Rylie some joy today!! Belt captioned her post with a picture of Swift giving her best selfie face to the camera. “A great way to bring a smile and create a memory!”

In a photo with another patient, Swift smiled as she held up a blanket that read, “Go Taylor’s Boyfriend.” The blanket was a nod to Swift’s star beau Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs, who did not accompany her on her hospital visit and was likely at football practice.

The “Fortnight” singer had a nice conversation about Kelce with another patient as she signed a copy of her book, while the young patient told Swift, “I like Travis now.”

“Yeah, me too,” Swift replied. “That’s an absolute yes. Is he your favorite player?”

After the patient responded that her favorite players were Kelce and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Swift responded, “Good. These are good answers. You’re a real hit.”

Swift also filmed a TikTok to her song “Bad Blood” while in the hospital, which was posted to the social media platform with the caption, “Boy there’s no way I (just) woke up and walked out with Taylor Swift.”

Another woman named Melissa Nuzum shared photos of Swift with a patient named Baylee on Facebook and wrote that she had “the coolest, most unexpected surprise ever.”

“TAYLOR SWIFT visited (inpatient) children today and Baylee was chosen because she requested Taylor songs during her unpleasant procedures,” she wrote. “Yes, she’s great! In addition to her beauty, she was just as friendly, personable and down to earth. She gave Baylee a signed copy of her Eras Tour book and accepted a gift from Baylee (a diamond art picture) “So”

Nuzum added that she “cried because it’s wonderful to see my girl smiling so much even though she knows the pain she’s suffered.”

In another video shared on TikTok, hospital staff wished Swift — who turns 35 on Friday, Dec. 13 — a happy birthday as she departed.

Swift ended her record-breaking tour on December 8 in Vancouver. During her final show, she reflected on her journey on stage.

“We have had so many adventures. “It was the most exciting, powerful, electrifying, intense and challenging thing I’ve ever done in my life,” she said lover Sentence.

Before performing “Karma,” her final song, Swift thanked her fans for being “part of the most exciting chapter of my entire life yet.”

After her tour ended, PEOPLE confirmed that the “Cruel Summer” singer paid out $197 million in bonuses to all of her tour’s employees – including truck drivers, caterers, instrument technicians, merch team, lighting, sound, Production staff and assistants. Carpenters, dancers, band, security, choreographers, pyrotechnics, riggers, hair, make-up, wardrobe, physiotherapists and video team.
