Team news: Rice and Havertz start in Lisbon | Team news | News

Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, Thomas Partey and Gabriel Martinelli have all been named in the starting XI for our Champions League game with Sporting CP.

All four were on the bench against Nottingham Forest at the weekend, although Partey came on as a second-half substitute (and scored our second goal).

Mikel Merino, Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard and Jorginho all depart the team that won 3-0 on Saturday.

Saliba reaches 100 Arsenal games against Sporting

This means that David Raya will continue to be in goal behind an unchanged back four. William Saliba is the 17th Frenchman to make 100 appearances for us.

Martin Odegaard leads the team again after missing all four Champions League games so far, apart from a late cameo at the end of our game against Inter last time out.

Kieran Tierney is back among the substitutes. If he comes on, it would be our first appearance since we took part in the Community Shield at the start of last season.

Viktor Gyokeres leads the host group, having scored 24 goals in 19 games for his club so far this season.
