Teen actor Hudson Meek, who starred in “Baby Driver,” dies after falling from a moving vehicle

VESTAVIA, Ala. (AP) — Hudson Meek, the 16-year-old actor who starred in “Baby Driver,” died last week after falling from a moving vehicle in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, CNN affiliate WVTM reported.

The teen suffered blunt force trauma in the Dec. 19 fall and was taken to the University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital, where he died of his injuries on Dec. 21, the Jefferson County coroner’s office told CNN affiliate WVTM with.

“His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and made a significant impact on everyone he met,” reads a post on his Instagram account.

The teen actor has had various acting and voice acting roles, most notably playing a younger version of Ansel Elgort’s character Baby in the 2017 film Baby Driver.

Meek also voiced the lead role in “Badanamu Stories” – a children’s show that explores topics relevant to preschoolers. He has also appeared on shows such as NBC’s “Found” and The CW’s “Legacies,” as well as the recently released thriller “The School Duel.”

Meek’s obituary described the teenager as a “thoughtful and thoughtful” avid traveler and nature lover.

“He loved skiing and could easily tackle the most difficult slopes that no one else in the family would dare to tackle,” the obituary says. “One of his favorite places was the lake, tubing and wakeboarding.”

Vestavia Hills police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding Meek’s death, WTVM reported. CNN has reached out to Vestavia Hills police for more information about the incident.
