Ten people waiting in line for a private event at a nightclub in Jamaica, Queens, were injured in a drive-by shooting late Wednesday night, New York City police officials said.

Four men walked up to a group of 15 young people waiting in line outside the Amazura concert hall and fired about 30 shots, NYPD patrol chief Philip Rivera said at a news conference early Thursday.

The 10 injured people were taken to area hospitals and all are expected to recover after suffering non-life-threatening injuries, Rivera said.

The attackers drove away in a light-colored sedan with foreign license plates, Rivera said.

The victims shot outside Amazura were between 16 and 20 years old, Rivera said, and police are working to determine what type of event it was and whether the venue was operating properly.

Rivera said the private event was “packed” with 90 people and called on the public for more information.

“The public has been instrumental in helping us arrest dangerous people in recent weeks,” he said.

Amazura Concert Hall released a statement on its Instagram account in response to the shooting.

“We are deeply saddened by the recent and unfortunate individual incident that has occurred. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this senseless act. We are working closely with law enforcement to ensure a thorough investigation and help bring those responsible to justice,” the account said.

“We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our patrons, event organizers and the local community for their overwhelming support and care during this difficult time.”

This is a developing story and will be updated.
