Tesla Model Y “Juniper” spotted in China with “cyber” headlights and no camouflage

The first photos of a fully exposed, updated Tesla Model Y “Juniper” prototype have been shared online.

As can be seen in the photos, Tesla appears to have implemented some “cyber” design elements into its best-selling vehicle.

The latest sighting:

  • Photos of what appears to be a Tesla Model Y “Juniper” prototype were recently shared on Chinese social media.
  • The photos were reportedly taken at a winter testing facility in northeast China.
  • Unlike other sightings of the vehicle, the photos showed a vehicle that was not camouflaged at all.
  • This marked the first sighting of a completely uncovered Model Y “Juniper”.

Model Y “Juniper” revealed:

  • What was immediately noticeable in the leaked images was that the apparent Model Y “Juniper” features a “cyber” light bar that resembles the lights on the Cybertruck and Cybercab.
  • Similar to the Cybercab, the “Cyber” light bar appears to be the headlights of the Model Y “Juniper”.
  • The spotted vehicle features a front fascia with design elements similar to the revised Model 3 Performance. This suggests that the updated Model Y prototype in the image may be a performance model.
  • A red light bar is clearly visible in the rear of the vehicle, although it is placed quite high.
  • The vehicle’s suspension also appears to be quite high in the leaked images at the time of capture. This could indicate that the new Model Y will get the Model 3’s revised adaptive damping system, which automatically adjusts to improve ride quality.
