Texans DE Will Anderson Jr. was selected for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award

Will Anderson Jr. continues to rack up the accolades for the Houston Texans in a groundbreaking second season at NRG Stadium.

Anderson was nominated for the 2024 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award on Friday representing the Texans.

The nominees for all 32 teams were announced by the NFL earlier this week:

The award recognizes “an NFL player who best demonstrates the qualities of sportsmanship on the field, including fair play, respect for the game and opponents, and integrity in competition,” the league’s website says.

The award is “determined by a vote of current NFL players” and the winner “receives a $25,000 donation from the NFL Foundation to a charity of their choice.”

Anderson remains one of the best passers in the league at the end of his second season. Despite sharing the spotlight with four-time Pro Bowl defensive back Danielle Hunter, the former No. 3 overall pick ranks in the top 10 among all defensive backs in sacks (9.5), tackles for loss (12.5) and QB -Hits (31).

The winner will be announced during the NFL Honors awards ceremony at the end of the season prior to the Super Bowl.

The Texans travel to EverBank Stadium to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday at noon CT.
