There is a lot of support for DJT in football these days.

Of course, the “Trump Dance” has taken over the football celebrations after Donald Trump defeated Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election. Both NFL and college football players have taken to imitating Trump’s signature “YMCA” dance after scoring a touchdown. And it has even spread to other sports:

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers is one of those players who broke out the Trump dance, showing off his moves after a touchdown against Florida just days after the election:

According to Longhorns lineman Jake Majors, the offense came up with the idea after seeing the dance go viral on TikTok.

But today, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Ewers appeared to express his support for Trump in other ways, too.

The Longhorns are currently facing the Clemson Tigers in the first round of the College Football Playoff. And when Texas posted photos of the team entering the stadium, people on Twitter were quick to notice that the star quarterback was wearing a gold “Trump” tie clip.

Here’s a closer look:

This is obviously not the first time Ewers has expressed support for the former/future president. After Trump’s assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania this summer, both Ewers and fellow Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning shared the iconic photo of Trump urging his supporters to fight:

And given the way Texas is currently stacking up against Clemson, it seems like Ewers will channel some of Trump’s energy from the 2024 election to help his team advance to the next round of the playoffs.

It seems that it’s not just the sports world that is signaling its support for Donald Trump. Recently, a video went viral showing country music legend George Strait doing the Trump dance as he exited the stage. Trump’s campaign account even shared the video and praised the king for his support:

“The King of Country himself, George Strait released the Trump Dance last night in Vegas…”

Even Victor Willis, the lead singer of the Village People, who has admitted to supporting Harris during the election, applauded Trump’s use of her song in his famous dance, saying in a recent interview that he appreciated the attention Trump and his dance have drawn , had high regard for her song and said he would be willing to perform the song at Trump’s inauguration next month:

“Because the president-elect has done so much for YMCA and brought so much joy to so many people – the song actually returned to No. 1 and is still No. 1 today – so if he were to ask Village People to sing the song live “To sing for him, we would have to seriously think about it.”

It’s certainly a change from Trump’s first campaign, when it seemed like most of his supporters were afraid to admit they supported him for fear of the public backlash and criticism from crazy people on the other side Page.

Who would have thought that just a few years later we would have football players doing his dance and wearing his merchandise in playoff games?
